| One of the key functions of GUNA is to keep practitioners working in the field of sexual health, up to date with the latest developments within the specialty. This section of the website provides information on the relevant forthcoming conferences. These may have a specific sexual health remit, or a wider context which is felt to be of interest to practitioners. This may include developments in nursing, socio-political issues affecting marginalised populations, such as ethnic minorities or lesbian, gay, bisexual & transsexuals (LGBTs), women’s health and nurse prescribing. GUNA News is our association’s twice yearly professional journal, which prints the papers delivered during Clinical Meetings, review articles, news, and network information. Issue from Volume 7 onwards are hosted for download on the site. Requests for copies of earlier editions and volumes can be requested by email GUNA members with an active email account can sign up to recent our weekly e-newsletter, GUNA Chronicle. Previous editions of GC are posted on the site, with the very latest edition being added every Monday. Chairs Newsletters supplement GUNA News, and usually contain the announcements of forthcoming Clinical Meetings. Again, recent copies of these newsletters may be download from the site. The latest texts, articles, guidelines, recommendations for practice or recent conferences, study days, courses and clinical meetings are posted within the Review and Publications page of the site. LATEST NEWS The National Blood Transfusion Service have released a position statement, after detailed discussions with the Terrace Higgins Trust (THT) as to why men who have sex with men (MSM) are excluded from donating blood (forever) but those individuals who have had sex with someone from a high prevalence area are only excluded for one year.
